Some Resolution Musing

Life

So here’s to the New Year. In past years I have wanted to make changes to myself. Have a greater outlook on life, lose weight, discover myself and the world, new experiences. So on. Well here it is, my New Years resolution, not that anyone really needs to know it, and those who have Gossip Girl on your Twitter accounts have gotten this one too: Delete your exes number from your phone and never talk to him again. So thats where I shall start. I know this is a more morbid and depressing letter to the world, but I am sure it may also help some hurting soul out there somewhere. Time to pick up the pieces and move along.

So here’s where I shall make another movement. I’m an angry person. A lot of people are so there’s nothing special about my case. So move along to what I plan on doing this year. No more negativity. Or at least less of it. Coming out of last semester with B’s across the board, I’m going to take it that this is a step down from the A’s of a previous year. Time to focus. Remove myself from the stresses of external matters and work on the important things.

Heck! If I am going all out on this resolution crap, let me also try and be a better person. I don’t know, try and be a little less blunt with people and my opinions. Try for a little bit more control. As I like to believe I have no problems with releasing my inhibitions, but is it worth the pain of others? My tag line to my life as I see it now is: Fuck It.

So in the end what do I have? I gave it up, but I still carry love. In a brown leather pouch around my neck, near my heart. I carry a mission of reconciliation and forgiveness in that same pouch. How will I do this? It’s simple. In a song I heard on the radio and later found on my iPod: “Sometimes good-bye is a second chance.”

Now if you cared enough to read this far, I encorage that you the readers email your resolutions, or things to give up for the New Year to sports@thequill.ca by Tuesday January 12, 2010.
