What you can do on Valentine’s Day

Hello, everyone! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I’m not talking about Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, or even Halloween: I’m talking about Valentine’s Day – the most amazing, wonderful, magical, stupendous, fabulous, colourful, romantic day of the year. The day of flowers, candy, chocolate, candles, surprises, and pink! There is just so much that this wonderful holiday can offer you!

This holiday is the perfect day to show your dear ones just how much you love and care for them! Make plans with your special someone for a romantic evening, and forget the world while wrapped in their loving embrace. There are so many options for a romantic Valentine’s Day. You could cook a meal together, go skating, go to a movie, or even go to the arcade – just as long as you and your beloved take a few hours of your day to enjoy the warm, fuzzy feelings that you two create for each other. Oh, there’s just nothing like love on Valentine’s!

One of the best things you can do for your special person is have a bouquet sent to their home! The traditional romantic choice is a dozen red roses that symbolize your love. But if they don’t like roses, try something else, like lilies or gardenias! A box of gourmet chocolates is also a great gift to give, especially in a new relationship. And don’t forget the stuffed animals! A nice-sized teddy bear and spritzed with your cologne (or perfume) will have them dreaming of you for months to come. How sweet is that?

Not the gifting type? Why not put on your significant other’s favourite outfit, and match it with their favourite way you wear your hair? Or, make them something special, like a home-cooked meal, or their favourite drink – or, for the more touchy-feely among us, give your darling a massage and truly show them how they make you feel!

But wait!  There’s more! Are you staunchly single? That’s totally okay! There is nothing stopping you from having a fantabulous Valentine’s Day too, because love is universal. Treat yourself to a spa day, send yourself flowers, read a good book, bake some cookies, eat some chocolates, or watch a movie! You could spend your Valentine’s with your friends and family, or you could even volunteer somewhere.

I hope you all have the most warm, loving, full-of-fuzzy-feelings Valentine’s Day you can! Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or something we haven’t got a word for yet, you can all have a special day and spread some love! Don’t forget to wear something festive for the day – a red shirt, a pink head band, or even a temporary heart tattoo! Just remember that February 14th is a day for sharing love and showing that very special someone how much you care!
