BUZS’s Darwin Days begin

he Brandon University Zoology Society, also known as BUZS, is hosting a parade of evolution-themed events in celebration of the 204th birthday of Charles Darwin, best-known, of course, for his work On the Origin of Species. Every day from Monday, February 11th to Friday, 15th, BUZS will have various celebrations on campus. On Monday, February 11th, there will be an animal and human evolution display in the Mingling Area, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Tuesday, February 12th is Charles Darwin’s birthday. BUZS will be having displays on the innovations in biology in the Mingling Area. Individuals are welcome to talk to Darwin and help him blow out his candles during the free slot, from 12:30 pm to 1:40 pm.

There will be a spaghetti sale on Wednesday, February 13th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm in the Mingling Area. The cost of spaghetti and a drink will be $2.50, while spaghetti alone will only cost $1.50. There will be a games night that evening from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm in the Elephant Room.

From 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on February 14th in the Mingling Area, BUZS will be holding a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale. They plan on having baked goods, anatomical Valentine cards, and science-related pick-up lines.

As part of a Science Seminar Series, there will be a presentation by biology professor, Dr. Paulina Rutherford on Friday, February 15th at 3:00 pm in room 4-47 in the Brodie Building.
