On Friday, March 22nd, the Students’ Union Drinking Spot (SUDS) is hosting a “Beer vs Beer Finale Party” to crown either Keith’s Pale or Labatt Blue as this year’s most popular ale. Featured at “the Superbowl of Beers” are local band No Teddy, progressive metal/hardcore group Torn From Flames and cover band Out F’Sync.

With nothing more than a fiddle, a guitar, a bodhran, and their voices (and $5 premium beer on special), Reel Brew helped bring in St. Patrick’s Day at The Dock on Princess this past weekend. Hitting the stage at 9:00 pm on Friday and returning at the same time on Saturday, the Brandon group maintained good spirits throughout, filling tables and keeping guests eagerly waiting to get in all night.

‘Crude’: oiling the art machine

Brandon University Fine Arts student Nicole Myker presented her thesis exhibition this past week.  Titled “Crude”, the show is an exploration of heavy machinery as well as other themes associated with the oil industry.  “I wanted to put myself out of the element of what I usually do, [so I] chose machinery and steel,” says Myker.

Concerns raised beyond bylaw violations in BUSU election

Further frustration is brewing among all students involved in the BUSU elections. The Quill had originally reported that controversy had been created by bylaw violations caused by Returning Officer Derek Booth, which, after further information surfaced Monday evening and Tuesday morning, was proven not to be the sole reason for the controversy.
