The Assiniboine Community College Cougars volleyball teams had a busy weekend! Both the men’s and women’s teams travelled to Winnipeg to face off against the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers.

On Friday, November 10th, the women played at 6:00PM. Although they were pumped and ready to play, unfortunately they lost to the Blazers in three sets. The scores were 13-25, 15-25, and 2-25 respectively. Erica Scott had ten kills and seven digs, while Kalin Winter also had seven digs.

The men had a similar start to the weekend with their 7:30PM game, losing to the Blazers in three sets. The scores for the men were 12-25, 14-25, and 10-25 respectively. Braden Campbell had five kills.

The teams came back on Saturday with a renewed spirit. The women played at 2:00PM, and while they fought valiantly, they lost to the Blazers in four sets. The scores for Saturday were 10-25, 25-20, 13-25, and 21-25 respectively.

The men did not fare much better than they had the previous night, despite fighting hard against the Blazers in their 3:30PM game. They lost in three sets again, with scores of 15-25, 20-25, and 18-25.

The Cougars Volleyball teams will play next at home in the ACC gymnasium against the Red River Rebels next weekend, Friday November 17th and Saturday November 18th. The women will play on Friday at 6:00PM and Saturday at 12:00PM, while the men will play at 7:30PM on Friday and at 1:30PM on Saturday.
